Saskatoon raises over $4000 for March of Dimes Canada!
For Immediate Release – Saskatoon’s Somewhere Else Pub and Grill recently rocked for a good cause!
Six local performers – The Rastaparians, Hurricane, 17 Seconds of Fuel, Half Ton Pickup, Phoenix and the Silver Voodoos, and The Noble Liars – played for an enthusiastic audience and a panel of celebrity judges, all to support March of Dimes Canada programs for people living with disabilities.
It was a tough decision but, in the end, the highly prized Piggy Cup went to The Noble Liars for the second year in a row. The Rastaparians received special recognition.
Altogether, the event raised more than
$4,000 for MODC’s
After Stroke and
Conductive Education® programs. After Stroke supports stroke survivors and caregivers, while Conductive Education is a unique rehabilitation program designed for kids and adults with neurological disorders like cerebral palsy or multiple sclerosis.
‘Saskatoon really shows up for us,’ said Dennis Ullman, Associate Director of Special Events and Community Relations for MODC. ‘We raised more than $4000 this year, which brings RFD Saskatoon’s grand total to $21,000. And that money will have a real, positive impact on the lives of people living with disabilities.’
