CALGARY ROCKS FOR MARCH OF DIMES CANADA!
13th annual fundraiser supports Albertans living with disabilities
For Immediate Release – Rock for Dimes Calgary celebrated 13 years of supporting March of Dimes Canada by raising $35,000!
Once again, three local bands – The Advo-Cats, CryBaby, and Ctrl-Alt-Deloitte – showed off their musical talent to a full house and our celebrity celebrity judges.
Global Calgary’s Paul Dunphy was back once again as our MC, while Dan Owen (owner of OCL Studios), David Farmer (MODC Calgary Committee member), Matty McKay (producer, songwriter, and musician), and Michael Bernard Fitzgerald (singer and songwriter) awarded the evening’s top prize.
CryBaby walked away with the Judge’s Favourite award, as well as Top Ticket Sales. Fundraising honours went to The Advo-Cats for the third year in a row!
‘Calgary is such a generous city,’ said Mary Lynne Stewart, National Director of Fund Development for March of Dimes Canada. ‘For thirteen years, now, you’ve really stepped up to support us and the work we do, and we’re so grateful.’
‘We couldn’t do any of it without the bands, judges, volunteers, and sponsors,’ Stewart added.
Our sponsors are: Long & McQuade, AMG Medical, Proactive, JSS Barristers, Pellarin Inc., OCL Studios , Global Calgary, Calgary Sun, Calgary Herald, Q107, The Palace Theatre, and Deloitte.
