Physician and engineer Dr. Mae C. Jemison joins March of Dimes Canada to celebrate people building a barrier-free future

March of Dimes Canada (MODC) is excited to celebrate Changemakers who champion equity and empower ability at their second annual Changemakers Supper Club on Wednesday, November 1 at Toronto’s Liberty Grand.

This inclusive fundraising event celebrates Changemakers — allies, advocates, and champions of change who are building a more inclusive, accessible future for people with disabilities.

“Creating transformational change is a collective effort,” says MODC’s President and CEO, Len Baker. “It’s also hard work. That’s why it’s vital to recognize achievements and celebrate progress toward a Canada where everyone belongs. It builds momentum that carries our work forward.”

Guests will enjoy delicious cocktails, a mouthwatering dinner, and the chance to hear about the inspiring work of MODC’s Changemakers. The highlight of the evening will be a keynote address from former NASA astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison, physician, engineer, and leader of the 100 Year Starship project, a non-profit for space exploration. Dr. Jemison will share her story of breaking down barriers and creating change.

MODC will also present their Changemaker Awards, celebrating remarkable individuals and organizations championing change and making an extraordinary impact in the lives of people with disabilities. Guests will hear remarkable stories and be inspired to become Changemakers, too.

Nominations for this year’s Changemaker Awards are now open. Click here to submit a nomination online.

All money raised at Changemakers Supper Club will support MODC’s lifechanging programs. Buy your individual tickets or tables now.

Join us at Changemakers Supper Club — together, we’ll create change and build a barrier-free society for people with disabilities.
