Joining a support group with other people who are living with a brain injury can be a great way to share your experiences and learn from others. Group participants have reported an increase in confidence, leisure opportunities and improvement in their understanding of brain injury, resulting in improved quality of life.
Meet your peers and develop skills in a variety of activities including the arts, academics, physical activities, social skills, coping strategies and more.
There are also interest-based groups for youth, caregivers or people interested in organizing out-of-country vacations.
Additionally, each group includes educational components focused on learning about brain injury, health and wellness, effective communication and goal setting.
Our brain injury support groups are either funded by Ontario Health or offered on a fee-for-service basis (usually your insurance covers these fees). If your insurance funding ends, we can support a smooth transition into programs funded by Ontario Health.
