8th annual OpportuniTEA with Kate Linder and Friends nets $35,000 for March of Dimes Canada!

For Immediate Release – March of Dimes Canada celebrated its 8th Annual OpportuniTEA with Kate Linder and Friends in Toronto.

Hosted by Kate Linder of The Young and the Restless, this elegant high tea features the thrill of meeting your favourite soap stars with the satisfaction of supporting March of Dimes Canada’s Conductive Education Program.

Conductive Education is a unique type of rehabilitation designed for children and adults with neuro-motor disorders like cerebral palsy, Parkinsons disease, and multiple sclerosis. The goal is to help participants improve physical independence in their daily lives, focusing on building from single steps to more complex tasks, and using problem solving techniques along with group reinforcement.

‘Conductive Education changes lives in positive and profound ways,’ says Linder. ‘So I’m incredibly proud to be the program’s National Spokesperson. Every year, this event raises money that makes a real, tangible difference to so many Canadians.’

This year’s event featured Linder and her Y&R co-stars Christian LeBlanc, Sharon Case, Mark Grossman, and Christel Khalil, and was once again co-hosted by Global Morning Show’s Carolyn MacKenzie and Jeff McArthur. Highlights included a Q+A session, live and silent auctions, and a picture and autograph session with the stars.

By the end of the afternoon, Toronto’s 8th annual OpportuniTEA raised a net profit of $35,000 for Conductive Education.

This event was generously sponsored by: the Flam family, Jane Jackson, Global News, the Toronto Sun, the Fairmont Royal York, PSAV, Sofina, Salma Jaffer Law, VIA Rail Canada, the Montreal Sheraton, the Distillery Restaurants Corp, and Stackt Market. Special thanks to: Gifted, Shop4Charity, Hollywood Eye Magic, Furious Fur, Tyme, Dana Pay, Natasha Apostolidis, and Fabricland.
