THUNDER BAY, ONT. — March of Dimes Canada (MODC) is pleased to announce that beginning spring 2026, we’ll be offering our employability program
Paving the Path to Work to youth and young adults with disabilities in the Thunder Bay area.
Paving the Path to Work is an innovative vocational training program that exposes people with disabilities to the possibility of work.
The program empowers young people with disabilities to explore their potential, build confidence, and create meaningful connections to community and employment through workshops, workplace tours, inspiring guest speakers, mentorship, and digital skills training. The program also offers financial literacy workshops and career planning sessions that help participants gain the tools they need to turn aspirations into achievable goals.
Paving the Path to Work replaces our existing Warehouse program that has operated in Thunder Bay for more than 20 years. This decision was made after significant review and with the approval of our funder, the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS). This change ensures that the services we offer are aligned with our goal of supporting employment and employability for people with disabilities in Ontario and that we’re meeting the vocational training requirements set out by the ministry.
We’re tremendously proud of the Warehouse program and its impact on the community. We’re also grateful to our staff and volunteers whose hard work and commitment have made this program possible.
We acknowledge the potential impact of this decision on current Warehouse program participants and their families, and we’re committed to providing whatever resources we can to help people find alternate programs and services within the community. This includes information about registering for Paving the Path to Work. We’re here to help.
While this change is significant, it opens the door to new opportunities and experiences for people with disabilities in the Thunder Bay area that reflect our commitment to supporting independence and inclusion, while breaking down barriers to employment and success.
Questions about this decision and available resources, including information about registering for Paving the Path to Work, should be sent to Todd Kennedy, Skills Development and Employment Lead, by email at
