The Employment Opportunities Research Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our mission to connect clients with meaningful job opportunities. By identifying job leads, researching job fairs, and building employer connections, this volunteer helps expand access to employment resources and supports successful client placements. Through hands-on research and relationship building, volunteers will gain insight into labor market trends, community partnerships, and strategies for improving employment outcomes for people with disabilities.
Main Responsibilities
Ensure job lead data is accurate, well-organized, and accessible for follow-up by staff.
Assist in engaging potential employers through outreach and basic marketing efforts to establish partnerships.
Contribute to the successful employment of clients through proactive opportunity scouting and sharing.
Identify and track job fairs, attend when possible, and report on the quality of employer connections made.
Monitor and record the number of leads identified and shared with the Employment Services team.
Research upcoming job fairs and generate job leads aligned with client interests and skill sets.
Help collect feedback from clients about the usefulness and relevance of the job opportunities provided

Skills and Experience
16 years of age and older
Access to a personal computer equipped with a camera and speaker/microphone as well as a stable internet connection
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Detail-oriented with an interest in employment services
Excellent written and verbal communication
Comfortable with online job search platforms and basic data entry
Strong research and organizational skills
Great customer service skills
