Kevin Howes’ job as a pilot takes him all over the world and has allowed him to see places many of us only dream of. Kevin, like so many of us, wants to give back and support good causes, but can feel overwhelmed by the number of charitable requests he receives in any given year.
As a result, Kevin decided to select a few charities to give to monthly – including March of Dimes. His sister has cerebral palsy and he was impressed by March of Dimes’ programs and services for children.
"By using this method, I know that my charitable giving is done and I don’t have to think about it, which makes it easier when I get calls to support other organizations," explains Kevin.
"I encourage people who support charities to become a monthly donor – it’s an easy way to give and I know that giving every month provides funds that March of Dimes can rely on,” he continues.
Kevin has been a March of Dimes monthly donor since 2005. “The Dime Plan”, or monthly giving, is an effective way to provide stable and ongoing support for the work of March of Dimes by pre-authorizing a regular monthly deduction from your bank account or credit card. This year, Kevin decided to increase his monthly donations to all the charities he supports.
Kevin recommends monthly giving as an alternative for people who find it challenging to make a lump sum donation once or twice a year.
“I know the money is being used wisely and that every little bit adds up,” says Kevin.
